About Us
Jacques Reymond restaurant is located only ten minutes from the Melbourne CBD, and occupies a stately Victorian mansion, dating back to circa 1880. Featuring extensively landscaped gardens, open fireplaces and a private car park, the house acts as a historical landmark in the area, and has been used as a restaurant and reception centre for over fifty years. Purchased by the Reymond family in 1992, the house has undergone extensive renovation so as to include three uniquely separate dining rooms, as well as a larger upstairs space for private functions. The resulting style of the décor and ambience promote the philosophy of Jacques Reymond restaurant as being a traditional framework for contemporary Australian dining.
The restaurant is proud to have been at the forefront of Melbourne dining since its inception, and head chef Jacques Reymond is very much chef in the kitchen, a figurehead for his flagship restaurant. His innovative and modern approach to cooking continues to win accolades for the restaurant, and many regard him as the most consistently balanced yet curiously daring chef Australia has yet seen. He has built his restaurant very much as a family affair, with various members of family employed in senior roles throughout the establishment.
The restaurant has been awarded three chefs hats by The Age Good Food Guide for many consecutive years and has achieved and won major awards.
